There are several industrial fasteners available in the market today, including grades 8.8, 10.9, and 12.9, all of which cater to the specific needs of a business. Amongst fasteners, the grade in a Grade 8.8 Threaded Rod is indicative of the capacity of stress or load, the said fastener can withstand. Furthermore, the grade will also determine the kind of tool that is to be used to tighten or fasten the bolts. Grade 8.8 Bolts are essentially constructed from a material that is either low or medium carbon steel. They are also referred to as structural bolts and may be used in building and construction as well as the auto sector. The chemical composition of these bolts contains boron in trace levels, which increases the hardenability of theGrade 8.8 Washer. Like several carbon steel alloys, it is common to have some additional processing of these bolts by means of heat treatment and surface treatment. Amongst heat treatment, the ideal processing would involve quenching the Grade 8.8 Fasteners, followed by tempering using various techniques, that may suit the application it is to be used for. Treating the surface of carbon steel bolts has several advantages.
Chief among them is the improvement noticed in the initially nonexistent corrosion resistance properties of the 8.8 Metric Bolt. There is an increase in the hardness, and wear resistance of the material, thereby ensuring a longer service life. Coating the Class 8.8 Bolt with zinc is possible using either a plating process or permitting the bolt to undergo processing by galvanization. While plating the bolt with zinc offers resistance to corrosion at a moderate level, manufacturers can improve this property by simply galvanizing the 8.8 Jh Bolt, which offers a higher level of protection. The coating of zinc in a galvanized 8.8 Bolt is thicker than a plated one. The shape of these bolts is hexagon in shape. Hence, they are also referred to as an 8.8 Hex Bolt.
