Most austenitic stainless steels are resistant to some forms of corrosion. Yet, in the presence of heat, some economical alloys like grade 304 tend to experience failure. The content of chromium in the alloy is higher and on average ranges between 24% to 26%. Whereas the content of nickel rounds up to a range of 19% to 22% in the AISI 310 Material. The moderate level of nickel makes it possible for the alloy to perform well despite an elevation in temperatures. Petroleum refineries, steel plants, ore extraction, furnaces, thermal processing plants benefit from the use of the WNR 1.4841 Ring. All these industries use or give off thermal energy that could range anywhere between 650 °Fto 1500°F. This material is ideal because the UNS S31000 Shims can resist oxidation up to a temperature of 2010°F. Temperatures as high as this are mildly cyclic and any conventional steel alloy including grade 304 would experience failure, unlike the A240 310s Circles.
